We got a cat! I've been wanting one for awhile. A few weeks ago, a beautiful orange and white cat came to our door. I let him/her in and it was the friendliest cat. It genuinely wanted to be at our house and I would have kept it. Rebecca loved this cat. However, I had seen a moving van two days prior two houses down. So I begrudgingly brought the cat to their house to see if it was theirs. It was. But the idea of a cat was there.
On Saturday we went to PetSmart to see what the SPCA had there. The lady that worked there was genuinely busy and she asked us to come back on Sunday. She didn't seem all that anxious to adopt her cats, but I did have both kids with me and I guess they don't want to give the cats to just anyone. But we went back on Sunday. I told her I wanted a friendly cat who would be ok with the kids and wouldn't poop all over our house. She recommended Momma Cat. Momma Cat had been with them since November. She was previously a farm cat who was given up because she was too fertile. God forbid they spay her I guess.
She's been a really good kitty so far and is transitioning well. Rebecca wants to play all the time. But so far the kitty will play, sleep, and cuddle. She has yet to eat. I bought really good food and I think she prefers the other stuff she was fed. Any advice? Just buy her the cheap stuff?
Oh, and they think she's 1-2 years old. I'll post pictures later.

Is she spayed now??? You might want to think about Bobby's saying: There's two kinds of cats: tom cats and mom cats!
The word verification for this post is "proopi." We won't even go there...
I can't wait to meet her! What kind of food are you feeding her (and what was she being fed before)? I can recommend good low-carb foods - which is what all cats should eat - if you want.
Lani,
Her spaying appointment is set for March 3rd. So I keep her inside anyways, but I'll definitely be extra-special vigilant. I certainly don't need kittens. Trina, I'm excited for you to meet her too. I don't know what she was being fed before. I bought Blue Buffalo food for her. The SPCA lady told me all about the horrible things in cat foods and the labels they use to disguise them and I was a sucker for it. Maybe PetSmart gives her a commission, I don't know. But she did eat today which was good.
Awwww!!!! Send some pictures to me!
So what's wrong with good ol' Purina Cat Chow?
The word verification to this post is "tsurri"--isn't that the name of Tom Cruise's kid?
nothing if you don't mind diseased carcasses and bones apparently. ignorance is bliss. although I eat hot dogs and I'm okay I think.
